Itineraries

Day 1

Arrival to Bagdogra – Phuntsholing

Today you will reach Phuntsholing after driving 4 hours. The drive will pass through crowded Siliguri town over Tista River into glance of tea gardens. Phuntsholing is the border point where most of the entry and exit of goods and services happens. Rest for a while and visit to Zangdo Pelri Lhakhang located in the heart of town where most of the people go for relaxation. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 2

Transfer to Thimphu

Start your day driving uphill with refreshing air and the scenic beauty of nature after completion of immigration formalities. The journey will pass through the broad leave forest to temperate alpine zone, villages, town, waterfalls and landscapes. Make a stopover at mystic town of Gedu and proceed your onwards journey to Chuzom – Tri junctions of highway leading into three directions spending your time for a photograph. Once you reach to city of Thimphu, visit to National Memorial chorten built in the memory of the third king and for the world peace. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 3

Explore Thimphu Valley

After breakfast, visit to Buddha Dordenma, located at the hill top overlooks the southern part of Thimphu valley. Continue your journey with a hike to oldest Changangkha Lhakhang, where spectacular view of Thimphu valley is offered. Continue visiting to Takin Reserve Centre followed Sangaygang view point.
Visit to Art and craft vocational school where student learn 13 different techniques to master in Bhutanese arts followed by folk heritage Museum where it provides festinating insights of Bhutanese culture and way of life in ancient times.
Visit to Authentic Bhutanese Craft Bazaar, the craft bazaar showcasing wide range of authentic Bhutan- made products and the farmer markets and the new Kaja Throm. Your day ends with visiting to Thimphu city with our tour executives and the locals. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 4

Travel to Punakha Valley

Today’s journey takes to Punakha Valley driving over the high mountain pass of Dochu la pass where on a clear weather, towering Himalayan peaks are visible. Punakha sites on an elevation of 1250m in a fertile and warm valley at the junction of the Mo Chhu (Female River) and Pho Chhu (Male River). The sub-tropical environment allows the cultivation of rice and other fruits. Visit to the impressive Punakha dzong as Punakha was Bhutan’s winter capital for 300 years until Thimphu became official capital in 1950s. The ancient fortress is the winter resident of the monastic order’s head and still serve as the administrative headquarters of the Punakha region. Continue your journey to longest suspension bridge of the valley, a perfect place to photograph. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 5

Travel to Paro Valley

Start your day visiting Chimi Lhakhang, the auspicious fertility monastery built in 1499 where numerous couples visit to pray to become pregnant and receive blessing from the saint with the “magic thunderbolt of wisdom”. Drive back again over Dochu la pass to Paro valley. On the way, make a stopover at first ever built Simtokha Dzong and Tachog Lhakhang. Continue your journey driving to iconic Paro valley.

Visit to 7th century Kyichu temple, one of the oldest Buddhist temples built ever in the country. The temple is one of the kingdom’s oldest religious worship and auspicious houses, that is said to pin down the left knee of an ogress that once demonized the Himalayas followed by Dumtse Lhakhang. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 6

Explore Paro Valley

Morning, hike up to view, one of the Bhutan’s dramatic monuments, the Taktsang Goemba, more commonly referred to as Tiger’s Nest monastery, built on a sheer cliff face at a height of2950m. The hike offers spectacular view of this sacred monastery perched on a cliff face 900m above the valley floor. Descending back, spend your time at beautiful Paro town with tour executives and locals followed by Paro Ta dzong and the Paro Rinpong dzong at early evening side. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 7

Travel to Phuntsholing

After your breakfast, visit to the chela la Pass, highest motorable pass in the Bhutan with a height of 3988m. Descend back to beautiful Paro town for shopping for some time.
Drive back to Phuntsholing, make a stopover to enjoy the beautiful landscapes, waterfalls, monasteries. At the evening side, enjoy being in the beautiful park. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 8

Departure

This morning, you bid farewell to Bhutan. Your driver takes you to the Bagdogra airport, a drive of approx. 5 hours from the Phuntsholing. We recommend you to be there 2 hours prior to departure.
